ADAPTED AGING, PLCC COMMUNITY-BASED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY IS LICENSED BY THE NORTH CAROLINA BOARD OF OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY CURRENTLY OFFERING PRIVATE AND COMMERCIAL CONSULTING & PREVENTATIVE HEALTH SERVICES TO WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA.

Occupational Therapy/OT considers all aspects of a person's life including hobbies, daily routine, physical and cognitive condition, and desired living environment. Techniques are modified to prevent risk for injury, promote accessibility, and prevent caregiver dependence with attention to activity performance. Environmental barriers are discussed and fall prevention strategies are implemented. OT helps people across the lifespan do what they want to do where they want to be.

Adapted Aging, PLLC provides solutions to the physical and environmental barriers that influence our independence as we age. We educate clients and caregivers with side-by-side support to promote quality of life, safety, and dignity for all.

Shanna L. Lambert, OTR/L, CAPS is a local Occupational Therapist providing preventative health and education services to foster safe opportunities for aging-in-place. Using a client-centered approach, she addresses personal goals to enable overall health and independence. She created Adapted Aging, PLLC in effort to meet a growing need of underserved community-dwelling adults and their caregivers.
Now accepting new clients, Adapted Aging, PLLC offers community-based preventative care, consulting, and education based services. Those seeking restorative Occupational Therapy will be referred to a local Medicare provider.
HOME SAFETY EVALUATION

Improve the accessibility and safety of your home with a professional in-home assessment of barriers with consideration for personal risk factors and functional ability. Receive recommendations and a personalized guidebook that includes strategies for energy conservation, fall prevention, and more. To support a safe future of independence at home, we offer resources to fit every budget.

This service is available to local residents of WNC and includes 2 home visits.

CAREGIVER COACHING

These services include education in how to manage and provide care at home while preventing injury and maintaining dignity. The unexpected can change a life in an instant. Have an urgent need and don't know where to start? We offer private consulting, in-home training, case management, and advocacy services. Have an aging-in-place question? Call for a free inquiry.

FALL PREVENTION PLAN

This program is personally designed to reduce risk for falls in the home and community. We review personal risk factors including posture, balance, mobility, medication management, and more. Together, we will identify environmental barriers within the home and implement strategies for fall prevention.

Additional resources are available for those with low vision.

MEMORY CARE CONSULTING

While a dementia diagnosis can feel overpowering, early detection and planning are essential in treatment. We are here to help with assessments of cognitive strengths, recommendations for symptom management at home, and more.

COMMERCIAL CONSULTING

If your company provides in-home care to older adults, let us deliver valuable techniques to prevent work related injuries and promote client satisfaction. Learn strategies for transfers, dementia care, fall prevention, and more.
