Provider’s Statement of Service(s):
We provide medical and grocery shopping transportation for seniors over the age of 60 at no charge. Donations are accepted. Seniors must call 24 hours ahead for medical transportation and transportation is based on availability of van. Shopping schedules are available by calling Apple Country Transportation at 698-8571. Public transportation throughout the city limits of Hendersonville is available at a 75 cents charge each way. The bus schedule with designated stops is available at the www.wcca.net website under transportation. Any questions regarding transportation should be directed to 698-8571. WCCA operates the Silvermont Opportunity Center in Brevard Monday through Friday. A schedule is available on the www.wcca.net site as well. Participants do not have to live in Transylvania County but must have their own transportation. More information is available by calling 884-3166. WCCA also operates Congregate Mealsites in Transylvania County at the Quebec Community Center and Silvermont Opportunity Center, as well as Home Delivered Meals in Transylvania County only.
Nutritional Supplement is available with a physician's statement. We provide Glucerna and Ensure to seniors who meet the requirements. For more information, call 693-1711 ext 123.
WCCA operated the Section 8 Housing Choice Program. Rental assistance is provided for below low-income residents. This is on a first come basis and does have a rather long waiting period at this time. There is an application process.
