Provider’s Statement of Service(s):
The Senior Companion Program at Land of Sky Regional Council is a volunteer program for older adults. The Senior Companion volunteers are 55 years of age or older, living on a fixed income. They commit to volunteering 15 to 40 hours a week helping other seniors with transportation and companionship to homebound elderly. Senior Companions also provide respite to Family Caregivers. In return for their volunteerism they are paid a tax-free stipend of $2.65 per hour, mileage reimbursement, paid holidays and vacation and sick leave.
Service to individuals is provided only by referral from our community partners including Henderson County agencies-Council on Aging-Henderson County. and Community Care of WNC.
