Provider’s Statement of Service(s):
The Home Preserve nation Program helps low-income homeowners who are affected by age, disability or family circumstances and struggle to maintain the integrity of their homes. These people either cannot complete the repairs themselves or cannot afford the repairs or both. Often, this involves serious housing issues such as leaking roofs, inadequate insulation, broken windows, missing siding, and unsafe entries. Habitat can make repairs for qualified homeowners with trained volunteer crews.

    1. Property Eligibility: Must be located in Henderson or Polk County, House must be at least 10 years old, Must be a single-family residence, Must be on a permanent foundation, Must be owner-occupied and the primary residence for at least 24 months, Must have need for functional repairs; cosmetic repairs will not be considered, Trailers and double-wides are excluded, except for accessibility issues.

    2. Homeowner Requirements: Current on mortgage loans, insurance and property taxes, Credit and budget must sustain a monthly loan payment for material only (labor is free through volunteer contribution), Sweat equity hours are required (determined upon scope of work and adjustments made based on physical capabilities), Monthly loan payment, with mortgage payment, must not exceed 30% of gross income (terms may be extended or reduced to keep within requirement), Must pay a $45 non-refundable application fee.
