Sheila O'Connor, occupational therapist, is a consultant, speaker, author and owner of No Place Like Home WNC, PLLC. She provides consulting services to help people plan for access into and around the inside of their home in anticipation of upcoming surgery, returning home after an unexpected health event or simply, planning ahead. This includes when building a dream, retirement home, or when choosing to remain in ones' current home. Her goal is to help identify practical, cost-effective solutions to address health challenges effecting one's independence and safety at home. Sheila collaborates with home builders/remodelers and product specialists as needed. She has over 25 years experience assisting individuals dealing with Parkinson's Disease, dementia, orthopedic surgeries, spinal cord injuries, strokes, low vision among many other diagnoses. In addition, Sheila offers consulting services to adult children who may live out of town, regarding their relative's ability to remain in their home.
